This is the 5th pattern in our ebook Cables Through the Year. This pattern can be purchased separately as well.
The theme for this Mystery Shawl is cables since we love cables so much. This is a different technique to knit a shawl, but you will end up with a unique and beautiful shawl!
We designed this shawl in two different yarn weights. DK and worsted. You can choose which type of yarn you want to use.
Skill level:
This pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter or an adventurous advanced beginner.
This shawl comes with both written and charted instructions.
Finished Sizes:
DK: 27.5″ (70 cm) x 60″ (152 cm)
Worsted: 30″ (76 cm) x 74″ (188 cm)
Yarn:
We designed this shawl in two different yarns.
DK Yarn: Knit Picks Capra DK
Worsted Weight Yarn: Preciosa Tonal Worsted Yarn
Amount for Shawl:
DK: 1170 yards (1055 meters) or 10 balls of Knit Picks Capra DK
Worsted: 1170 yards (1055 meters) or 5 skeins of Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal Worsted Yarn
Knitting needles:
DK: 4 mm [US 6] circular needles
Worsted: 5 mm [US 8] circular needles
GAUGE:
DK: 22 st = 4” (10 cm); 32 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch.
Worsted: 18 st = 4″ (10 cm); 24 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in stockinette stitch
