It’s that time of year again…
Christmas is my favourite holiday of the year! Family gathering close, fire crackling in the fireplace, it is hard not to feel the excitement!
Do you have time to knit in December? It’s December now, we have snow on the ground and the temperatures are dropping. My kids are talking about Christmas programs and fun Christmas activities at school. Then there’s house cleaning to do, baking, and Christmas shopping, oh, and of course a Christmas meal to plan! December can get so hectic. This means one thing. I need to pull out my knitting to relax.
I decided to do something to help you all get through December this year! This is called my Joy Christmas Pillow cover. It’s meant to be worked on throughout December to help you unwind through the hecticness of December. Sneak in a few rows throughout the day and your knitted pillow cover will be ready by Christmas! In other words, it’s the survive December knit!
Here’s how it works:
- Get the Pattern
- The pattern will be divided into three sections. (week 1, week 2, and week 3). You can knit quicker or slower, however you like, this will the the guideline to get you to your pillow by Christmas time.
- Join the Knitalong! We’ll be running the Knitalong in our brand new KnotEnufKnitting Knitalongs group on Facebook.
This pillow cover features beautiful cables running vertically on the right hand side, and the word ‘Joy’ also running vertically on the left hand side. It is made to fit a 18″ x 18″ throw pillow, buttoning on the back. I chose to use a dark grey (Charcoal Cascade 220) yarn and added a burst of festive colour with the red buttons. I can’t wait to use this pillow this Christmas season, and add it to the Christmas decorations to be used year after year! Also a great timeless knitted gift idea that will be loved over and over again!
