I have been knitting for 20 plus years using continental style knitting. My husband bought me a knitting book in which I learned to knit from. It was a wonderful experience, and I haven’t looked back since. Knitting had become part of me. There is rarely a day in which I don’t take a few minutes to knit. I find it so relaxing.
I started designing my own knitting patterns about 10 years ago. However, even before that, I was designing patterns. I wasn’t writing them down. After a few videos that I created, I had many knitters ask me how I knit so fast. They were interested in how I knit. I had never thought about it before. Of course I had noticed that I knit different than many people, but I didn’t realize how different.
I started doing some research, and I realized pretty quickly that my method of continental style knitting is much faster. It also requires way less movement of my hands. So, upon request, I have created a video tutorial illustrating how I work the Knit stitch. Give it a whirl and see what you think. It must just help you knit a little bit quicker!
Check out: Continental Style Knitting (Lara’s Method) for another video tutorial on how I work the continental style knit stitch.
I have also created two other video tutorials on the continental style knitting.
