Have you ever tried to knit a raglan sweater sleeve using 4 dpns? It can be done, however, I find that using 2 circular needles or magic loop is much easier to knit. I find it easier to keep track of my needles and when I put my knitting away, the needles don’t fall off the stitches. Dpns can be tricky.
This video shows how to use 2 circular needles to knit a Raglan Sweater Sleeve. The stitches are divided in two, one half on one set of needles and the other half on another set of needles. You will knit each section separately, however, the sleeve will still be knit in the round.
The benefit from knitting with 2 circular needles instead of dpns, is that circular needles are easy to handle and easy to put aside. I also find that the sleeve knits up a little bit faster.
Give this method a whirl and let me know what you think!
