When you are knitting, there will be times when you need to add a new ball of yarn to continue knitting. This can be done in several different methods. I will illustrate how to join yarn on the RS whether working in rows or in the round.
If you are working in rows, I prefer to join the yarn on a RS row. This method can also be used while working in the round. The join is strong and durable. It will not come apart when you are finished knitting. Also, I find this method blends in well with the rest of your knitting.
I prefer to join the yarn in the middle of a row if I am working with rows. Joining the yarn at the edge of a knitted project can cause the edge to be uneven.
This video illustrates how to join yarn together on the RS while knitting in rows or in the round. You will use two strands of yarn to join a new ball of yarn into your knitting. This is definitely my favourite method for joining yarn.
