Winter Solstice Shawl Knitting Pattern

Have you knit a shawl with a cable border that does not require any seaming at the end? The cable edge on this shawl is knit right along with the rest of the shawl. The cable at the top of the shawl is attached with a special bind off. It is definitely a technique that you should try! Our testers have been intrigued by this special bind off!
This is a classy, slightly smaller than average shawl to be worn for many occasions! It is designed in a worsted weight wool. So, perfect for those cool winter, spring or fall days! It has an interesting design. A mixture of purls, knit and moss stitch make this shawl intriguing!
This shawl comes with written instructions. There is no chart for this pattern.
This shawl comes in 3 different sizes (width x length):
Toddler: 22″ (56 cm) x 16″ (40.5 cm)
Teen: 31″ (81 cm) x 24″ (61 cm)
Adult: 44″ (112 cm) x 33″ (84 cm)
There are instructions how to create your shawl wider and longer as well.
This shawl was designed with Rowan Pure Worsted weight wool, however, any worsted weight yarn will work.
Yardage:
Toddler, teen, adult: 250, 450, 600.
In the yarn we used (Rowan pure wool worsted) that’s 2 skeins, 3 skeins, 3 skeins.
Gauge: 18 stitches x 24 rows – 4″ (10 cm) x 4″ (10 cm) in stockinette stitch
Needles: 5 mm (8 US) long circular needles
Also require: 2 markers, cable needle, ruler
